Anchor Text

Anchor text is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The text is displayed to the user and is typically highlighted in some way to indicate that it is a clickable link. When users click on the anchor text, they are taken to the URL associated with the connection. In search engine optimization, anchor text is used to help search engines understand the context and relevance of a website's content. Users also use it to know where the link will take them before they click on it.

Backlink

A backlink is a link that is directed toward your website. It is also known as an inbound link or incoming link. Backlinks are essential for search engine optimization because they help improve your website's visibility and credibility. When a website links to another website, it is seen as a vote of confidence in the quality and relevance of the content on the linked website. As a result, the more backlinks a website has, the more likely it is to rank highly in search engine results.

CDN

A CDN, or "content delivery network," is a distributed server system that delivers web content to users based on their geographic location. The goal of a CDN is to provide users with the fastest possible access to the content they are requesting. When a user requests content served by a CDN, the request is routed to the server closest to the user's location, which helps reduce latency and improve the website's overall performance. CDNs deliver content-heavy websites, such as video streaming platforms, online gaming services, and software downloads.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps people who have a website understand how it is performing in Google search. It lets website owners get essential information such as:

  1. What keywords and search queries are bringing people to their website,
  2. How many people are clicking on their website in the search results,
  3. If there are any issues with their website's speed or mobile-friendliness that could be affecting its performance in search.
  4. Allows website owners to tell Google when they have updated their website and to check for any security issues or malware.

Overall, Google Search Console is a helpful tool for anyone who wants to improve their website's visibility and performance in Google search.

Keyword cannibalization

Keyword cannibalization refers to the situation when multiple pages on the same website are targeting the same keyword or similar keywords. This can confuse search engines, as they may struggle to identify which page is the most relevant for the targeted keywords. As a result, these pages may compete against each other in search engine rankings, which can dilute the overall SEO effectiveness of the website. Addressing keyword cannibalization typically involves re-evaluating your website's content strategy and ensuring each page targets a unique set of relevant keywords.

Keyword Research (for SEO)

Keyword research is like a treasure hunt! Imagine that you're a pirate looking for a hidden treasure. You need to follow a map and look for clues to find it. In the same way, keyword research helps you discover the words and phrases people use to search for information online. By using the right keywords, you can ensure that your website, content, and ads are more easily found by the people looking for what you have to offer. Like a treasure map, keyword research can help uncover hidden gems and make your online adventures more successful.

Page title

A page title is like the title of a book – it tells you what the page is about and why you should read it. A page title should be unique, descriptive, and catchy, like a book title. It should also be relevant to the content of the page and should accurately reflect what the page is about. A good page title is like a treasure map – it gives you a glimpse of the treasure you'll find on the page and helps you decide whether you want to dig deeper and explore the page further. So if you want your website to be a treasure chest of valuable content, give each page a great title that will make users want to learn more!

SCHEMA

Webflow schema refers to the structured data markup language used by Webflow to help search engines better understand and interpret the content on a website. By implementing schema markup, Webflow users can provide search engines with additional information about their content, such as product details, ratings, reviews, and more. This can help improve the visibility and relevance of a website's content in search results.

SERP - "search engine results page"

SERP stands for "search engine results page." It is the page displayed by a search engine in response to a query by a user. The SERP typically contains links to webpages that the search engine considers relevant and authoritative for the user's query. The links are usually displayed in order of relevance, with the most pertinent links appearing at the top of the page. Depending on the search query, the SERP may also include other types of information, such as images, videos, and news articles.

Sitemap

A sitemap is a file that lists all the pages on a website. It is typically organized in a hierarchical structure that shows the relationships between the pages on the website. Sitemaps help search engines understand the content and design of a website, which can help the search engine index the website more effectively. Users also use sitemaps to navigate a website, providing an overview of its content and organization. A sitemap may be a simple text file that lists the URLs of the website's pages or an XML file that contains additional information about each page, such as when it was last updated and how often it is changed.

SSL

SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is a way to ensure that the information you send and receive on the internet is kept private. Imagine that you're sending a secret message to a friend. You don't want anyone else to be able to read the message, so you wrap it up in a special envelope that only your friend can open. SSL is like that special envelope, protecting your information as it travels across the internet.

Webflow

Website crawler

A web crawler, a spider or bot, is a program that automatically visits websites and looks at their content. Search engines typically use web crawlers to find and index websites, but search engines can also use them for other purposes, such as checking links on a website or looking for specific information. Web crawlers typically start by visiting a seed URL, which is a starting point for the crawl. From there, they follow links on the page to other pages and continue to crawl the web this way until they have visited many pages or reached a specific goal.
